Position Overview

As a Packaging Operator, you will play a central role in our Packaging Operations.  You will set up and operate the packaging equipment, package goods in can and keg while operating within standard operating procedures and to the highest standard of cleanliness, hygiene and safety.  You will ensure that finished product is properly documented to provide traceability, completing production paperwork accurately. 

Key responsibilities

  • Set up and operation of the canning machinery and kegging equipment
  • Preparing of packaging materials
  • General maintenance and hygienic cleaning of packaging equipment
  • Safe and efficient operation of canning machine
  • Packing cans from the canning line into cardboard cases and palletising goods
  • Filling kegs and palletising
  • Working as part of the wider brewery team to ensure brewery and packaging area are clean and tidy
  • Adhering to all hygiene, HSE and quality requirements to ensure a safe and efficient operation
  • Completing production paperwork as required for traceability and record keeping

Our ideal candidate will:

  • will be willing to learn
  • have good awareness of basic food hygiene (although full training will be given)
  • have good communication skills
  • be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • have an interest in the craft beer industry
  • have proficiency in the use of pallet trucks and warehousing duties (though full training will be given)
  • previous experience is desirable but not essential

This is a physical job and the ability to lift regularly is essential. 

Shift times

  • days typically from 6am – 10.30pm (8 hours per shift), shift patterns notified in advance
  • flexibility may be required during busier periods
  • full time, permanent position
  • 40 hours per week
