We have just about recovered from an absolutely brilliant weekend at Leeds International Beer Festival. It is one of the favourite festivals for us to go to and this year was no different.

This year, it was me, the marketing assistant, and Lisa, Scotland sales, who got to travel down south to get our beers into the hands of the lovely people of Leeds. It was our first time at this festival (Fierce has been going for a few years now), and the venue absolutely blew our minds (even after it blew away in the wind).

Met up with some friends!

We got up on Thursday raring to go visit our friends at Tartarus Beers. After the journey the day before we were just happy that we were in the city we were meant to be in and we would be seeing some familiar faces very soon. We got a lovely tour of their brewery and even got a hand in brewing our upcoming collaboration that you will learn more about soon enough (yes we are marketing and sales but we know a thing or two).

The other breweries at the festival were incredible, I have never been surrounded by so many lovely, helpful people, and they made my first beer festival south of the border so memorable.It is always so nice to meet the passionate people behind all the hard work and the lovely beers.

The feedback on our beers could not be better!

It was so nice to be down in Leeds for the weekend, pouring our beers, chatting to people and seeing everyone’s reactions as they worked their way through the lineup.

For me, that’s one of the best things about beer festivals. You get to share the beers everyone has spent so much time working on with people who might never have tried them before, and hearing what they think is always such a good feeling.

My personal favourite, though, is watching people spot Iron Brew being poured. You can see the confusion on people’s faces before they even get to the bar. Last weekend we got a lot of “wow, that is orange!” and “the taste is spot on!”

We do want to say a big sorry to anyone who came looking for us on Friday afternoon and missed us while the tipi was getting fixed. We know there were some disappointed faces, and we’re really sorry to everyone who missed out.

Despite missing out on an entire session, you guys did not hold back and we sold out of Iron Brew very early on the Sunday, so next year we will be sure to bring more with us we promise.

We had some lovely conversations with you lot that came to our bar and it was overwhelming to hear all the nice things you had to say. Our team here at Fierce HQ are delighted that you are loving what we are putting out and we can’t wait to share what we have coming next.
